YouTube Breakdown: Who to Watch

May 5, 2015

Hello, it’s Nicole. Fun fact: I watch more YouTube than I do TV. I’m obsessed with keeping my “Watch Later” playlist organized and I love setting aside some time in my day to hang out with my favorite YouTubers. If you’re into YouTube, you’ll know that your favorite YouTubers can feel like your friends. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, you’ll think I’m crazy.

Allow me to introduce you to some of my “friends” in the Beauty/Lifestyle community:

The Pros: Legit as they get…

YouTube Pros

Pixiwoo: *British accents* “Hello everyone and welcome back to Pixiwoo!” Sam & Nic are the coolest sisters ever and they are so sweet. Their channel is incredible for learning makeup basics from a pro along with celeb inspired tutorials. Oh yeah…and ever heard of Real Techniques makeup brushes? That’s them.

NikkieTutorials: I’m Dutch, Nikkie’s Dutch, my friends sometimes call me Nikkie, we both have tiny eyes…we are kindred spirits. She also does some amazing full coverage looks and loves glitter. Plus, she’s hysterical.

Jaclyn Hill: YAAAAS! Jaclyn is a former MAC/freelance Makeup Artist and now does YouTube full-time…for good reason. She loves a good smoky eye, especially with color and glitter.

Wayne Goss: I love Wayne’s videos because they are so short but still get to the point. Great for quick tips and tricks.

Hanging with Friends: I really think we are friends…

Beauty Broadcast aka EmilyNoel83: Emily is from Southern Illinois and was a news broadcaster before she switched to YouTube. Her channel has a lot of tutorials and she has a second channel with product reviews in under 5 minutes.

Bailey B: Bailey is a little lesser-known than some of these other YouTubers but is wonderful! She does a lot of dupe/drugstore videos as well as high-end and caters to more of the makeup-lover, not pro.

Makeup & More: Also into Fashion/Lifestyle…

MakeupByTiffanyD: I’ve been watching Tiffany for years and years. I love her tutorials but she also does fun fashion videos and hauls.

GlamLifeGuru: Tati posts 5 days a week. She gives honest reviews, does great tutorials, and is overall fabulous.

Meghan Rienks: Convinced I could be best friends with Meghan. She’s brutally honest and while she’s moving away from just makeup only on her channel, she still talks a lot about beauty. When her foundation doesn’t match her neck, she doesn’t care and I respect that because sometimes there is more to life. Why I love her

Essie Button: Estee inspires me to just up and move to England, much like she did, to be with her boyfriend Aslan (like the lion from Narnia). Anyway, Estee does makeup videos really geared toward the everyday gal, and she’s hilarious.

Amelia Liana: I want to be British. I also want to be Amelia’s best friend. She rocks a smoky eye and also loves fashion/home décor. And since “friends” take pictures together, here is a picture of “me” in one of her videos #FeelingSpendy (her hashtag to justify shopping sprees)

If you made it through that long list, good for you. Hope you find some cool new YouTube friends to hang out with from this list or someone on here can help to teach you something. Who do you love on YouTube? Help me distract myself more. xoxo Nicole
