Goodbye for Twenty-Five

August 25, 2016

For 10 years I remained fairly faithful in my relationship with Pink by Victorias Secret. Although I stopped lusting over their bedazzled tracksuits a long time ago, I’ve been a loyal buyer of their underwear for a decade. At first, we seemed like the perfect match. Their 5 for $25 table always fit into my budget. My earliest pairs have held up through it all. They’ve seen countless shitty apartment appliances and various admirers. However, over the past few years their product’s lifespan has gone from 2-3 years, to 2-3 months. Pathetically so.

I should have left a long time ago. They raised their prices, they’ve lost their credibility, and they still insist on putting the words “Pink” on my lace underwear. Somehow they’re still insanely popular despite the fact their branding is essentially the reason every teenager in this country has an eating disorder. I mean, come on, their “PINK” sweatshirts have a history of being the uniform for girls who over-pluck their eyebrows.

I know the right match is out there. Everyone is trying to convince me to get with Aerie, but I feel as though shopping at American Eagle would be retrogressive in my shift to adulthood. It’s just a personal opinion, but I don’t think backpocket labels are going to make a comeback anytime soon. Ladies on a budget, let me introduce you to my BFF Old Navy. In my dreams I’m shopping at La Perla, but reality isn’t so glam.

How can I get quality underwear that I can actually afford?

Fortunately I’m here to share a pro-tip, while simultaneously online shopping.

First, go to an expensive online store such as Saks, Shopbop or Revolve Clothing.

Next, go to the sale section and search “low to high.”

(Most of the time, underwear will be the first thing you see.)

You’ll be able to find tons of high quality panties (and dope socks) on super-sale.

Pro-Pro Tip: Wait until they are having a “sale on sale” ;).

I ordered these 3 Calvin Klein pairs for $21 via Shopbop
