Culottes & Cult Gaia

June 22, 2017

For about a year I have been obsessing over the Cult Gaia arc bag. I always assumed, that like most of the bags my favorite fashion bloggers wear, it’s probably $500+. It served as my inspiration (it’s a literal piece of art, they sell it on MoMa‘s website), but didn’t seem like a viable purchase.

Then one day, in a weak moment of lust, I actually clicked on the link and realized the bag is just $140. $10 under budget for Ben and I’s agreed-upon anniversary gift budget this year. So, I expressed my undying love for this bag to my boyfriend, and he nearly perfectly timed the pre-order on Moda Operandi.

That day we saw Brandan Urie (P!ATD) star in Kinky Boots on Broadway and had a slightly-above average brunch at Miss Paradis in soho. Two years has flown by, but it really just keeps getting better. In case you’re wondering, I got ben this watch by Orient that he spent months researching as well.

I finally had the opportunity to shoot with my new friend Francesca Dolnier, and I wanted to feature my new bag (of course), but also these cool new Tibi culotte pants. Which are by far the most flattering pants i’ve ever worn. Here you can see both pieces worn two ways, one inspired by classic french style, and another I thought you could wear to a casual brunch setting, or summer concert.

I wear a lot of silk neck scarves. This one was given to me by my aunt Hadley last summer, who bought it in the 80’s.

I’ve finally given in to the culotte trend. Mostly, because I think its here to stay. Flares are flattering, and they are not going out of style anytime soon. That said, of course I ordered these Tibi culottes from Rent the Runway

I picked up this cool off-the-shoulder top, which I would highly recommend. I know cold-shoulder tops are a tricky thing for us busty betches, but this one was really flattering. Its long enough that you can easily tuck it into high-rise pants. I sought out these shoes by DMing a girl on Instagram to ask where she got her shoes, which I felt like I could actually walk in, and was #blessed enough to find out they were less than $30!!

Thank you for visiting 🙂
