In the past few years fashion blogging has gone from being considered a niche hobby to a powerful career. Although I don’t consider myself a fashion blogger (just a writer with an interest in fashion), I’ve become virtually acquainted with a number of amazing fashion bloggers over the years. Some of the most popular bloggers have over a million followers on Instagram. These are some voices in the blogging industry that not only inspire personal style, but have exceptional business skills. Lets here it for #girlpower.
Chiara Ferragani
Anyone who knows anything at all about Insta-famous fashion bloggers knows of Chiara. Who is this chick with so many followers? I thought to myself circa 2012. The quirky, adorable Italian blogger is the founder of The Blonde Salad; arguably one of the first major fashion blogs. To give you an idea of how successful she is, Harvard Business School did a study on her. Now Chiara is a multimillionaire, who designers beg to wear their clothes. She now has over 3 million Instagram followers… not bad for a girl who was wearing Abercrombie & Fitch when she started her blog in 2009. Chiara’s shoe like “Chiara Ferragani Collection” is original and adorable. It has been evident that Jeffrey Campbell and other similar designers have been inspired by her line.
Chiara, you are the queen.
Jacey Duprie
Damsel in Dior has been one of my favorite fashion blogs since I became aware of her publication. I was even creepy enough to buy a piece from her collection with Gorjana based almost entirely on my girl-crush on founder Jacey “effortlessly cool” Duprie. Her style is a perfect mix of high and low-end clothing, my kind of girl. Who doesn’t love a highly-successful fashion mogul who wears Old Navy as fashionably as Prada? Not only does she have a flawless, inspiring sense of style, but her blog also incorporates a love for interior design. If you consider yourself a minimalist with style, Jacey Duprie may be your next fashion idol. She also has the two cutest dogs ever and a full Insta of photography and fashion inspiration.
Leandra Medine
I relate to Leandra Medine on a lot of levels because I too consider myself a Man Repeller. If you want to talk fan-base: Man Repeller. Leandra (and side-kick Amelia Diamond) are some of the cleverest bitches on the internet. Seriously. Even if you don’t think you’re interested in fashion, Leandra can and will change your mind. Following MP is like being part of a clique; one my friends Emily Sciarra introduced me to. Its a community where regular commenters know one another, including Amelia and Leandra. Of all the fashion influencers out there, these two are the funniest and most involved in all the land. If you’re weird, you’ll fit right in.
Danielle Bernstein
I always forget that I am not friends IRL with Danielle from We Wore What. The 23-year-old (as of today, HBD) NYC resident has made a fucking killing on Instagram. Last week this girl reached 1 million followers on her account. On what planet does a 23 year old attain a free designer wardrobe? Cyber space, baby. What started as a street style blog has become a fashion diary. Unlike Chiara, Danielle’s wardrobe is a mixture of inexpensive brands and higher price-points. Girl has a denim Chanel boy bag that she named after Britney and Justin’s former relationship.
Creepy confession: I follow some of Danielle’s friends on Instagram. A lot of them are extremely stylish, but not Insta-famous.
Julie Sarinana
Another massive powerhouse of fashion blogging is Julie Sarinana of Sincerely Jules. In addition to being insanely popular on Instagram (over 2 million followers), Jules has a relatively affordable clothing line that is sold online via Revolve Clothing and Shopbop– a fashion blogger dream. Her petite appearance makes her the perfect fashion icon for the vertically challenged. My girl Julia of Simply Vande considers Julie Sarinana to be her favorite fashion blogger, although she was initially drawn to her because they share the same nickname, she is often inspired by her style. Sincerely Jules = how you wish you dressed.
Shea Marie
I definitely loved Shea Marie, founder of Peace Love Shea, more before I followed her on Snapchat. Although she is stunning to everyone’s standards, and evidently sweet and adorable; I’ve watched her turn down In and Out Burger via snap story. She refused to eat the burger and fries. I can’t deal with that. However, not only do I love the way she dresses; Shea’s Instagram photography is among the best.
Mary Seng
Mary Seng of Happily Grey is based out of Nashville, and quite possibly one of the most popular style bloggers in her city. With over 200k fans on Instagram, Mary’s feed is perfectly compatible. Her blog is a favorite of Crush Boutique stylist Nissa Lafond, understandably so. Similar to Jacey Duprie of Damsel; Happily Grey appeals to the minimalist fashionista with a weakness for cotton, denim, and neutrals.
There is so much more to tell, but I want to hear what you have to say. 100 followers or 100,000— what are your favorite fashion accounts on Instagram?
