Over the course of Sparkles & Secrets / Mack in Style; we’ve had a number of condom companies have approached us about partnerships. I’ve never been interested in covering the topic. Not because I find it unclassy, but because I didn’t want to post pictures of myself on Instagram holding condoms to my face. A few weeks ago I received a direct message on Instagram from a company called Sustain condoms. Change of heart: I was PUMPED. I was familiar with the company, whom had been featured on one of my favorite podcasts, Lady Lovin’ (hosted by Lo Bosworth, Jilly Hendrix and Greta Titelman.)
We know what happens when we don’t use condoms, but it’s hard to imagine we should fear condoms themselves. I’ll let you in on a major secret; even when you use a condom, you still don’t know what you’re putting in your body. Major condom companies have dipped their toes into child labor and environmental destruction. The FDA doesn’t require a list of chemicals. This isn’t a joke. Fortunately, Sustain‘s products are fair trade, vegan, and fair priced.
