To me, shopping has not always been my favorite. Fishing through messy racks trying to find your size can suck the energy out of you. Online shopping with a glass of wine is more of my style. Luckily, the world has been blessed with Trunk Club. I promise you, if you aren’t completely hooked after reading this, you will be after receiving your first trunk. If Mackenzie’s article hasn’t convinced you already, I will.
With hopes of making shopping easier and better for men, a couple of friends in Chicago began Trunk Club Men’s Outfitters. After its first Clubhouse opening in Chicago in 2010, Trunk Club’s business became known as “revolutionary” according to the New York Times. Trunk Club has now 8 unique Clubhouses around the country with its newest location in Boston just a few steps away from Nordstrom Rack on Boylston Street. Trunk Club has brought their clients a whole new way to shop in Boston.
When the elevator doors opened, we were immediately greeted and directed over to their Clubhouse. I didn’t believe in love at first sight until I walked into Trunk Club. To the right, was a beautiful, elegant bar and to the left, was a seating area with couches that were nicer than any living room I’ve ever had. As I was taking it all in, one of their stylists offered us a complimentary beverage– he had me at cold brew. Once we met our stylist, Liz, she directed us over to our very own fitting lounge. I felt as if I was sitting in someone’s apartment. The furniture was chic with a hint of vintage. After she asked all about my style and sizes, she went off to select a variety of different in-house inventory for me while I sit back and enjoyed my cold brew.
I had my very first Carrie Bradshaw moment while trying on these clothes. Everything from the shoes to the velvet blazer – I felt more and more fabulous with each outfit. Liz worked with me to incorporate some transitional styles and some staple fall pieces. The outfits chosen varied from business to casual to GNO ready.
I hope you enjoy these looks as much as I enjoyed my first experience at Trunk Club!
