Welcome to the 1970’s or 1990’s… or 2015 or whatever. This is the year of the grungy rockstar hippie chick. Free People will experience all time high sales (assuming their product rocks again,) and Brandy Melville will sell out of tattoo chokers. Denim skirts will make an appearance (SMH,) but won’t fully make a reappearance until 2016 or 2017. I will ignore it until then. This is what you need to make your year fashion-forward and fabulous.

Vests- Fringe is everythingggg, but a fur or leather vest? I’ll take that too.

Flared jeans- Oh you thought those patterned flare pants from Brandy were something new? I don’t think so– flares are back. Only this time, please don’t wear them with your UGGs. They have fetch ones at Free People if you’re trying to invest now– which I recommend.

Birkenstocks- Many of my friends probably think this is wishful thinking on my part, but birks are back in bizzz + I LOVE THEM!

Frame Denim- Although in 2k15 I resolved to stop keeping up with the Kardashians, I am a huge fan of their favorite denim line Frame (available at Saks, Intermix, etc.) If you’re on the shorter side and are a fan of the styles of J Brand and the fit of AG– try Frame & never turn back.

Oversized Chambray Shirts- with a white tee and black leggings? You might have just rolled out of bed but you look like you rolled into a viral tumblr post.

Maxi-everything- Maxi coats (is that a thing?), dresses, skirts, whatever– maxi is in, mini is out.

Zac Zac Posen- If you’ve been looking for a bag with the same Tory Burch, Rebecca Minkoff, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Kate Spade (etc) price point; but want something different. Look to Z Spoke (available pretty much everywhere.) I got my first bag for Christmas and I’m already in love.

Sneakers- This is the year of dressing up gym sneakers… things are going to get pinteresting. Not ready to channel in your inner BadGalRiRi? Try converse with a sundress…. easy.
