Spring Break Packing: Makeup & Products

February 15, 2015

Hello Sparkles & Secrets! My name is Nicole Bolt, I’m guest blogging here and also write boltblogs.com. I’m going to guide you through all things beauty you need for your Spring Break trip or if you have vacations plans this summer…

I used all drugstore brands for the makeup so that if you need to pick up anything before you’re trip you aren’t breaking the bank:

  • BB cream: Do your skin a favor and lay off foundation for the trip. As much as you want to look flawless for dinner and nights out, your skin will also enjoy the break. Plus, you’ll be able to spend an extra hour on the beach instead of primping in the bathroom.
  • Powder: Stay Matte in the warm weather with a little powder that will also add a little extra coverage (Translucent also available amongst the 8 shades
  • Blush/bronzer duo: Save space by packing a 2 for 1 product like this one. It comes in two different shades to choose from
  • Waterproof mascara: If you don’t go for waterproof, definitely go for water resistant so you don’t get smudging
  • Small palette: A nice palette will allow your looks to be versatile while also doubling as your eyeliner and eyebrow product as long as you pack an angle liner brush (Bring one colored eyeliner if you really want a pop of color)
  • Bright lipstick: Go for a pretty purple or crushing coral. You’re having fun on vacation – let your makeup prove it.

Obviously tailor these to fit your needs but these are all things I’m taking with me on my trip this March:

  • Shower Gel and Lotion: While your hotel might have this, research has proven a connection between scent and memory. Do yourself a favor and instead of getting travel size containers that will probably leak, pick up a new scent that will always remind you of your trip.
  • Clarifying shampoo: If you’ll be in chlorine, you’ll definitely want something to keep your hair in good shape (follow up with a color protecting conditioner if you color your hair too).
  • Do-it-all hair product: Keeping your hair type in mind, pick up one good hair product that can get you through (if you really need to tame your tresses, pick up some cute headbands from Forever 21).
  • Facial Spray: Keep this in your fridge and mist when you get back to your room. It’ll refresh your face with some moisture you lost in the sun and feel amazing.
  • Variety of sunscreen: One sunscreen won’t do it all. You’ll need 3: 1 oil-free for face, 1 for body, 1 mist for hard to reach places

I hope this list is helpful to some of you! Below comment with some of your vacation essentials to make sure nothing gets left off the list!

Hope all of you had a great Valentine’s Day! I’ll be back on Wednesday talking about MAC Cosmetics!
