There are times when celebrities appear and you immediately dislike them. You can’t figure out what it is, they just bother you. I felt this way about Carley Rae Jepson. Not as often do you discover a new talent that you’re sure will succeed from the moment you hear their voice. That is how I feel about Elle King.

Her voice is raspy soulful and appealing. Think Bon iver meets Adele meets Dispatch meets Norah Jones meets Mumford and Sons. This girl rocks a gold nose ring, bright red lipstick and a flawless cat-eye. Looking through her Instagram, you can’t help but want to be her friend. Magazines from People to Cosmopolitan have been singing her praises. Perez Hilton has been a fan since 2012 (as has Esquire.)
