Gift Guide: The Men in Your Life

November 28, 2018

Whether it’s your parent, your child or your significant other; the most difficult gifts to buy are usually for those who “have it all.” My Dad is always the most challenging person to shop for. There are only so many Ralph Lauren half-zip sweaters you can buy someone before you look insincere. I passed that milestone awhile ago. He’s got plenty of money to shop for himself, and owns nearly everything LL Bean has to offer. My Mom is pretty much the opposite. She depends on me to keep her up to date with the latest trends. Don’t get me wrong– I got it (my style) from my mama, but she’s only just-now at the point where she feels comfortable splurging on herself.

Then of course there is me. I’m likely the problem child on most people’s gift list. I’m constantly posting photos of myself in cute outfits, and don’t really need anything at all! So, as always, here is my gift guide. You’ve probably seen a million of these, so i’m going to condense it to 50 gift ideas for him. I’ll follow up with a FOR HER guide shortly 🙂

The Basic Bro:
Bulleit/ Bulleit Rye – Bourbon – Loved by all, good taste, inexpensive. $40-$50 dollars
Woodford Reserve – Bourbon – Well Known. Looks good in a gift box – $40 – $50
The Nerd:
Suntory Yamazaki – Japanese Whiskey – High quality, great taste, perfect for the geek in your life. – $70 – $85
The Snob in your life:
Lagavulin 16 – Scotch – High quality scotch, Ron Swanson’s (and my own) personal favorite. You can practically taste the sea salt on the rocks $90 – $110
Macallan 12 – Scotch – A good starter, albeit expensive introduction to good scotch. Perfect for a finance bro boyfriend who doesn’t know scotch $65- $75
Johnny Walker Blue Label – Although this scotch is horrendously overpriced, it is delicious and a perfect gift for rich people to give to each other – $250 – $350
