Ring in 2019 in Style

December 13, 2018

Whether your fashion staples include fur coats and statement jewelry (where are my #extra ladies at?) or you prefer to keep things simple, New Year’s Eve is a time for everyone to go OTT and literally sparkle. I live for any excuse to dress up, which is the sole reason I won’t be spending NYE in fuzzy slippers and a cozy PJ set on my couch.

I rang in 2018 in a black velvet tube top and pant set and have decided I will most likely close out the year in black velvet as well. New Year’s Eve is the perfect time to go classic with sparkles or switch it up with satin or leather – the Kardashians have made skintight latex dresses a thing and if you say you aren’t here for it, I don’t believe you!

Dresses & Jumpsuits – This year I am all about either midi-dresses or super-mini-dresses, which thankfully includes the blazer dress trend that I can’t get enough of. For those who would rather not subject their bare legs to the cold (I get it, trust me), jumpsuits are still very much in.

Shoes – You can never go wrong with a simple strappy heel. I have just about every color in the Vince Camuto Corlina ones linked below. But, if you are not into sucking up the cold for the sake of cute toes while waiting in line for the bar, booties or calf-high boots both pair perfectly with all of the options mentioned above.

Accessories – Last year was all about tassels. TBH I am still mourning the death of that trend. This year we brought back hoops (don’t worry, Regina George’s monopoly on them is over) and simple earrings that make a statement. NYE tends to be chilly so don’t forget a faux fur coat to keep warm.

BONUS – For those brave enough to make New Year’s Day brunch reservations ahead of time.
