So Ben and I have been living in a tiny beach cottage in Marshfield this summer. It’s essentially a guesthouse of someone else’s place; but with the view of the river and the proximity to the beach– it was a no-brainer. It’s also nearly impossible to find affordable summer housing in this town, so we felt really lucky.
I have really loved living here. I’m obsessed with the beach, and since it was a ~3 min walk from our place, I absolutely made the most of it. I would often go to the beach for an hour or two at a time; and spent nearly every weekend day on the beach reading. Truly a dream. The people we rented from were a really fun family and we enjoyed getting to know them! They even have a 21 year old daughter named Mackenzie who I became super friendly with!! I was actually here cheerleading coach when she was 8, so it was very surreal having spiked seltzers by the fire pit together!
But it’s super small and a little pricey, so we’re excited to go back to the last house we were at in Brant Rock for a few months. It has a grill, our own backyard, 3 bedrooms and multiple ideal walking routes for Sophie.
We don’t really know what’s next for us; whether that’s just doing the month-to-month thing until we find something we love, or moving out in November or December. We may go to Boston, we may search for a year round house rental (lmk if you know of a great one.) But we don’t hate living in the suburbs (plz note this was written 8/30/20) when it means we get to enjoy summer to it’s full capacity.
One thing we are sure of is that we’re getting married next weekend! With our grandparents, parents and siblings in a private ceremony in Hingham.
